The Women Football League (WFL) is the first official national Saudi football league to be developed, managed and organized by professional teams. It will be the base of future Saudi’s female teams on ground. The league aims to create happy memories for all participants and visitors during all the played matches. The league will begin in the three main cities Jeddah, Riyadh, and Dammam. The registration will be open as well for the rest of the cities. If the registrations show a city with a minimum of four registered teams at 20 players per team minimum, then the city will be welcomed into the tournament. The league will be for the age 17+ and played on format 9v9, with a final Champion Cup knockout tournament. The WFL provides the opportunity for players to participate in a tournament, and also provides educational opportunities for those who would like to continue on the coach and referee trajectory. Several courses will be delivered during the league to ensure skill upgrades for players, coaches, and referees. Courses will be prepared and presented by certified members of the Asian Football Confederation with vast experience in training and delivery of courses, in addition to grassroots and amateur football programs. The aim of the instruction is to boost and enhance the WFL while upskilling its participants. Different events for girls and women will be staged at different venues and schools with the objective of creating additional opportunities for all age groups. The activations will be planned according to statistics reflecting interest in participation.
